Mice received 4% DSS ± 1% L-Arg in the drinking water as in Figures 3– 8. On the day of sacrifice, colons were removed, and epithelial cells were isolated as described in the Methods. (B) On the day of sacrifice, mice were given an i.p. injection of BrdU, CECs were isolated, and stained for BrdU and E-cadherin as described in the Methods.
